Artworks on wood have a maximum size of 75 × 100 cm.

Piet Mondrian (or Mondriaan) was born and raised in the Netherlands, lived in Paris and London and spent the last four years of his life in Mahattan in New York.

This work shows all the subway lines that come together at Times Square – 42nd Street station as lines that divides the pane in different areas that are colored in a typical Mondrian style. Manhattan meets Mondrian meets Metro.

The lines and services that come together here are the blue line (train A, C, E), the red line (trains 1, 2, 3), the yellow line (trains N, Q, R, W), the purple line 7 and the silver shuttle line S.

This piece celebrates Mondrian’s work with my interpretation of the lines that touch Times Square – 42nd Street.
